lets have some Girl Talk

I feel that every person is entitled to their opinion and the freedom to express their ideas and creativity in anyway they choose. If you take something someone else has already made and you learn from it and appreciate it, then I think it is completely okay for you to make it better (or your own piece of work).  This is from 'A Remix Manifesto' and it basically sums everything up:

A REMIXER'S MANIFESTO

1. culture always builds on the past

2. the past always tries to control the future

3. our future is becoming less free

4. to build free societies you must limit the control of the past

freedom of speech
fair use

I feel that it is only appropriate that Helvetica be my font of choice for this post.

The documentary Helvetica shows the importance of font, and font design, for viewers who may not have thought about how much a text really does in advertisement. As a viewer, you were exposed to the history of Americas favorite font, and the way it has affected the world of graphic design and media. Helvetica as a font is universally used. It can be used in almost any way to portray any message. It does not take away from the overall image, but instead enhances it.

The meaning is in the content of the text and not in the typeface, and that is why we loved Helvetica very much. - Wim Crouwel
